The title “Heartstrings” is inspired by the Japanese phrase
琴線に触れる (Kinsen ni fureru), which translates to “touching strings of the heart.” The word 琴線 (Kinsen) refers to the strings of the Koto, a traditional Japanese stringed instrument.
Rooted in my cultural background, this philosophy guides in my photography. When I witness beauty - whether it’s in the fleeting grace of a small flower, the play of light, or a quiet moment in nature - something within me awakens, as if a string on the Koto were gently plucked. A soft, yet powerful sound emanates from within, and I feel a deep almost spiritual connection to the world around me.
“Heartstrings” is not just a collection of photographs, but an invitation. As you look at each image, I hope that you let it touch your heartstrings and hear the symphony begin to play within your own heart.
